Hurricane IDA and COVID-19 Updates

*Due to the after effects of Hurricane Ida and subsequent malware attack on Jeffnet, the 24th Judicial District Court will be closed until 8:30a.m. Monday, September 20, 2021.

Those with court dates during the period of closure due to Hurricane Ida are ordered to report to, or contact, the division between September 20, 2021 and October 1, 2021 for a new court date.

If the conditions indicate that the Court needs to adjust closing dates and times, notice will be posted.

If you or anyone in your household are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, are currently positive for COVID-19, or are under a quarantine order or recommendation due to COVID-19, call the division prior to coming to court.*

The person requesting access should provide their name, the hearing they wish to hear/observe, and their contact information. Arriving & Parking at the 24 JDC

100_4255-smThe 24th Judicial District Court is located in Gretna, LA, on 200 Derbigny Street. To get there from the East Bank:

Take the Crescent City Connection to the West Bank. Follow the West Bank Expressway until the Lafayette Street exit. It’s the first exit after Stumpf Blvd.

At the Lafayette Street exit, drive on the Service Road through the Lafayette Street light, up until the next light at Derbigny Street. Make a right and follow Derbigny Street all the way to the river. The courthouse will be on the left.
